With our modern and understandable human scientific selection we kind of avoid natures’ way of selection by evolution. There’s a chance we’re actually making our species more vulnerable to future environmental catastrophes or certain genetic defects. Is that a good thing? Is it a bad thing? We don’t know. Surely almost everybody can reproduce or lengthen their lives because of medical procedures or medicines. But playing for god might, and the eternal search for the “perfect being” could, just as well lead us to a bitter end. Let’s hope not!
