Nowadays, a foul and unhealthy image is portrayed in the media of what we should think that ‘beauty’ is. Programs like “…Next Topmodels” propagate this fashionable nightmare. The problem with this image is that it affects a lot of people, especially young girls, and teaches them to disrespect themselves and others who don’t fit within these rules. Other than spreading low self-esteem and all sorts of eating disorders, it is simply an image that cannot be upheld and that is certainly not healthy. We hope people/TV producers and media producers will become more aware of this and will become aware that certain shows on TV have a bigger (and sickening) impact than being simply entertaining.
