about

Earth is the source of everything that lives. Yet we’re draining this source drop by drop, acre by acre and not doing much to preserve anything. What will we do if we run out of drinkable water? Certain metals? Fossil fuels? Can we sustain this level of consumption forever?
We believe we cannot. But when comes the point of no return? Will we even see it coming? Will we look back when it is too late? Do we even want to change the ways we’ve set up our (Western) ways of consuming? And will we ever take responsibility for what we’ve done? These are a lot of questions unanswered but in great need of being aware of.

lyrics

Let’s wait till our seas turn green
Algae green with a touch of blood red
Yes we fare well
While topping their chain
Boats full – locked and loaded
Fare well into a deeper hell

And at the end of this procession
When all barren land’s dead
Do we look back and see
Where we went wrong?
While continuing our death fleet
More oil drills being set
Will we look back and see
That we got it all wrong?

Let’s wait till our crops turn black
Quick crops for our late night snacks
Yes we fare well
While topping all chains
Machines full – locked and loaded
Running to a deeper hell

Into a deeper hell

So-called progress takes us further
I only see our options dissolve
When we stare at the doors that are open
I wonder if we wait for more:
Algae green and blood red summers
Until our shores’re destroyed
Destroyed

And at the end of this procession
When our barren land’s dead
Do we look back and see
Where we went wrong?
